Having grown up near their original
brewery in White River Jct., I still have a hard time remembering
to call this the Harpoon
Brewery instead of the Catamount Brewery. Shortly after moving
the brewery to Windsor, Catamount was purchased by Boston-based
Harpoon, which was looking to expand their operation. The Harpoon
Brewery now produces a variety of beers, including Catamounts
(ex. Pale Ale, 8Lives, Porter) and Harpoon (ex. Munich Dark, Winter
Warmer, Octoberfest).
Visitors to the Harpoon Brewery can tour it, purchase apparel,
gifts and beer (or course) in the brewery store and visit the
Beer Garden. The Visitors Center and brewery are open Tuesday
through Saturday, 10-6, with guided tours available at 11 and
3. Groups and buses are also welcome for tours, although groups
of twenty or more should call 802-674-5491 x221 to set up reservations.
The Beer Garden offers deli sandwiches and beer in an indoor/outdoor
cafe that is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10-6. The Harpoon
Brewery can be found on Ruth Carney Drive in Windsor. |
