Vermont Folklife Center

The Vermont Folklife Center was founded in 1984 to preserve and present folk arts and the Vermont cultural tradition/heritage that might otherwise be lost. Housed in the historic Masonic Hall in Middlebury, they offer gallery exhibits of folk and traditional arts, a heritage shop, an educational resource center, an apprenticeship program and an oral history and folklife archive with over 3800 taped interviews.

The Center also sponsors a variety of educational programs that travel to visit schools and groups.

Admission is free, and the gallery/shop is open Thursday through Saturday, 11-4 (the Research center is open Monday to Friday, 10-4). You can reach the Vermont Folklife Center at 802-388-4964, or stop into their Website for info on events and current exhibits.
