Barre Opera House

The Barre Opera House was built in 1899 to replace a predecessor that had burnt down. It was shut down in 1944 and remained pretty much unused until 1982, when efforts began to restore and renovate it. Today it is the cultural center of Barre, offering 70-100 events each year and hosting events such as the Celebration Series. About 20,000 visitors annually enjoy performances at the Barre Opera House by both local and international artists.

A trip to its Website will reveal a very interesting and detailed history of the Opera House, a calendar of events and more. The Barre Opera House can be reached at 802-476-0292.
