Mulled Maple Apple Cider

6 cups apple cider
¼ cup maple syrup
1 orange peel cut into strips
1 lemon peel cut into strips
2 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
6 whole allspice berries

Place cider and syrup in a large pot. Combine remaining ingredients in a spice bag and add to pot (alternately, you can just combine all ingredients in the pot. You'll just have to strain the cider before it is served). Heat all about 10 minutes or until hot. Serve hot sprinkled with cinnamon or with a dollop of whipped cream.
