Lower Symes Pond

Vermont pond

Description: Both Lower Symes Pond and Upper Symes Pond require a bit of work to get to. Specifically, they are both about a mile up into the woods, accessible by 4-wheel drive (perhaps an adventurous 2-wheel driver could make it, but haven't driven it, I'm not sure I'd like to try it). The effort is worth it, though, as the kayaking/canoeing is fantastic. While there are only a couple of camps present, the area abounds with wildlife and birds.
