Opened in 1909, the Pittsford National Fish Hatchery is located just north of Rutland in North Chittenden (off Route 7). Visitors to the hatchery will be welcomed by several hundred thousand fish, get to feed an eight-pound salmon and more. The Pittsford National Fish Hatchery is open all year, 8-4.

Their Website is also a must visit. In addition to an online virtual tour, the site contains tons of information (statistics on fishing, etc.), historical photos and much more.
