From 1793 to 1961, the
site of the Rokeby Museum was the home to four generations of
a Quaker family of farmers, abolitionists, artists and authors.
It was also one of the best documented underground railroad sites
in the country. Today it is a historic site and national historic
landmark featuring fifty acres of hiking trails, period-furnished
rooms and exhibits in the main house and outbuildings. The Museum
also sponsors school programs (available early spring to late
fall) and classroom presentations on the underground railroad
(year round).
The Rokeby Museum is open mid-May to mid-October,
Tuesday through Sunday, 10-4. Walking trails are open daylight
hours year round. Guided tours of the house are available every
45 minute. The cost of admission is $6/adults, $4/seniors, $2/children
