The Old Stone House
was originally built in the 1830's by the Reverend Alexander
Twilight as a dormitory for what was the county's first secondary
school. The site is now composed of five historic buildings
on 55 acres of Vermont farmland, and visitors will enjoy a
number of exhibits and the collections of the Orleans County
Historical Society (ex. books, maps, furnishings, decorative
arts, tools, photographs, etc.). The grounds are also available
to stroll, with the highlight being the views from the observation
tower on Prospect Hill.
The Museum and grounds are open during the following times:
May 15-June 30, Friday through Tuesday, 11-5
July and August, daily, 11-5
September 1-October 15, Friday through Tuesday, 11-5
