Lake
Champlain Challenge
Sponsored by the Vermont Outrigger Canoe Club, the Lake Champlain
Challenge is open to all self-propelled seaworthy open water craft.
The Challenge ($25 entry fee in 2003) lets you pick between two
different courses of 15 or 7.5 miles, and all races start and
end at the North Beach Park and Campground in Burlington (stop
by the site for actual start date and time. In 2003, it was scheduled
for August 16).
Sugarbush
Triathlon
When the triathlon heads north, it tends to gain a little something.
Take, for example, the Sugarbush triathlon. Happening in the spring
every year (check the site for the exact date; in 2003 it was
April 13, 2003), the Sugarbush Triathlon runs from Warren to Fayston
and features five miles of running, six miles of boating, eight
miles of biking
and 2.5 miles of skiing. Welcome to the
north. They have a variety of racing classes that include both
canoes and kayaks. |
