The Bennington Battle Monument was dedicated
in 1891 to commemorate the 1777 Battle of Bennington. The
Monument itself is constructed on the base of the Continental
arms storehouse that was at the heart of the battle, and
is in the form of a 306' dolomite obelisk complete with
an elevator. In addition to the monument, the site has interpretive
exhibits and a gift shop.
The Monument is open mid-April to October
31, 9-5. The cost of admission is $1.50/adults, $.50 for
children under 14. It is located on Monument Circle in Old
Bennington and can be reached at 802-447-0550.
