The Hills Are Alight...
Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
- Albert Camus

While certainly true that Vermont does not own the copyright
on impressive fall foliage displays, there is something about
its low rolling hills and tree species mix that seems to make
fall in Vermont a little more special than in other northern
states.
Visitors to the state who come to view the foliage (so called
"leaf peepers") seem to agree, pumping $1.14 billion
into the state during the 2000 fall foliage season (according
to the Vermont Tourism Data Center).
The resources below will help you get the most out of your
trip if you choose to visit Vermont during its "blooming,"
or just give you more information on the foliage process and
how to capture its beauty (either physically or on film) anywhere. |
