and other events that occur in Vermont throughout the year. Below are
some of the state's main events for the month of September:
Barre
Granite Festival - Offers a number of activities and demonstrations
such as rock splitting, letter carving, hand drafting, stone carving
and etching. Think everything granite with food and entertainment
thrown in and you've summed up this great festival.
Champlain Valley
Fair - Vermont's premier fair attraction, featuring a number
of musical acts, attractions, exhibitions, agricultural stuff...
the list goes on and on.
The Great Vermont
Corn Maze - "Explore the Great Maze by day and enjoy
360 degrees of panoramic views. Or double the challenge, and experience
a STARLIGHT MAZE on select weekends in August and September."
Stowe Oktoberfest
- "Stowe's Jackson Ice Arena will be transformed into a Bavarian
village for this annual celebration of harvests and fall foliage.
From oompah bands to authentic German foods to freshly brewed
Vermont beers to pumpkin painting and puppet theatre -- there's
something for every "villager" -- young and old."
Tunbridge World's
Fair - Old fashioned agricultural fair in rural setting, working
antique displays, horse, pony & oxen pulling, horse racing,
cattle & horse shows, junior exhibits, floral & 4-H exhibits,
contra dancing, gymkhana, free shows, midway. Located in Tunbridge,
Vermont.
Vermont Arts &
Fine Craft Festival - "325 outstanding artists from
18 states and Canada joined us last summer. For 2004,the Festival will
be a 3 day, Labor Day Weekend, indoor/outdoor celebration of arts, fine
crafts and specialty foods in the heart of Vermont's finest four-season
resort, Stratton Mountain."
Vermont Shepherd Cheese Cave
Tour and Tasting - The cheese cave is where Vermont Shepherd ages
their cheeses, and they only show it about four times a year, so you
should really try to hit it if you're in the area. They also run a farm
stand, where you can purchase all their award-winning cheeses.
The Vermont State Fair -
Agricultural events including horse & cattle shows, farm museum,
exhibits, crafts, 4-H building & events, country & western shows,
demo derby, horse & ox pulling, tractor pulls, carnival, ethnic
foods, demonstrations, maple sugar house. Located on Route 7 in Rutland.
