Southern Vermont Camping
1)Bald Mountain Campground - In operation since 1968, Bald Mountain Campground is situated in a river valley and includes some 160 acres of meadows and forest. Call them about booking a WE hookup or a river site. Townshend. 2)Brattleboro North KOA - This camping area has 42 grassy/shaded sites in all, covering everything from tents to RV's. This area features a pool, game room, TV lounge, playground and grocery store. Dummerston. 3)Camperama Campground - Offers 206 sites in all, 59 WES and 160 WE. Some of the facilities here include tubing, a swimming pool (with a children's wading pool), playground, shuffleboard, horseshoes, basketball, volleyball and hayrides. Townshend. 4)Camping on the Battenkill - Within the 35 acres of the campground there are 48 sites in hardwoods, 37 in a partially wooded area, and 18 in our meadow. Our generously spaced graveled sites are suited to tent camping as well as RV camping. You can choose from a basic site with no hook ups, electric and water sites, or a site with complete hook ups. Arlington. 5)Dorset RV Park - Dorset RV Park offers 40 sites, 27 with WE. A tent area is seperate. Some of the activities here include horseshoes, shuffleboard, swimming, hiking, biking, fishing and hunting. Dorset. 6)Emerald Lake State Park - The 105 campsites, including 36 lean-tos, are located on a heavily wooded ridge above Emerald Lake. Flush toilets, hot showers ($) and a dump station are provided. There is a small beach with snack bar and boat rental facilities. A hillside picnic area, as well as lakeside picnic tables are available. An open picnic shelter pavilion can be reserved for large group gatherings. Trails throughout the park and nearby provide great hiking opportunities. Swimming, fishing, and boating (no motors) are popular in the lake. Dorset. 7)Fort Dummer State Park - "The campground has 51 tent/trailer sites and 10 lean-to sites. These are located in two adjacent areas and are served by two toilet buildings, both with hot showers ($). There is a sanitary dump station, but no hookups. Also located within the park are a small picnic area, hiking trails, a play area, and a large open field." Brattleboro. 8)Hidden Acres Campground - Nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont, overlooking the mountains of New Hampshire, Hidden Acres Camping Resort features a large swimming pool and PUTTERS PARADISE, a unique 18-hole Miniature Golf Course. The Connecticut River is nearby for boating and fishing. They feature 40 sites and a wide variety of activities, including shuffleboard, horseshoe pits, badminton, volleyball, a playground, hiking trails. Brattleboro. 9)Jamaica State Park - There are 43 tent/trailer sites and 18 lean-to sites that are spread out through the campground. Two rest rooms, complete with hot showers ($), are located in the campground. Jamaica. 10)Molly Stark State Park - Two camping loops consist of 23 tent/trailer sites and 11 lean-to sites. One rest room with showers ($) is located in each loop. There are a play area and a picnic pavilion for large groups. A hiking trail starts from the park and goes up to the Mt. Olga fire tower. Wilmington. 11)Pine Hollow Campground - As you enter the park, youll first find yourself surrounded by serene grassy meadows. After a quick stop at the office to check-in, where youll be welcomed into the Hollow, youll come upon our crystal clear (and cold) spring fed pond. Many of our sites are nestled along its edges, where youre welcome to fish right from your campsite, as the pond is stocked with trout each season. Pownal. 12)Townshend State Park - The campground, situated in a wooded area, has 30 tent/trailer sites and 4 lean-to sites. There are two bathrooms, one of which has showers ($). Townshend. 13)Woodsford State Park - The campground has 103 sites including 20 lean-tos. The heavily wooded area surrounds the reservoir and offers great camping opportunities. Flush toilets, hot showers ($), and a dump station are provided. There is a small beach and picnic area near the dam with pit toilet facilities. Rowboats, canoes, and paddle boats are available for rent. There are several hiking trails, including a 2.7 mile trail around the lake. Woodford. |
