South-Central Vermont Camping
1)Ascutney State Park - The park has 39 wooded tent/trailer sites and 10 lean-to sites that are arranged within two camp loops. There is a small picnic area at the foot of the summit, and a picnic area and shelter part way up the summit road. Windsor. 2)Bomoseen State Park - First open to the public in 1960, the campground contains 66 campsites including 10 lean-tos. The sites are both wooded and grassy open areas. Some are located along the lakeshore. Fair Haven. 3)Camp Plymouth State Park - Located directly on the southern tip of South Hero Island, Camp Skyland features 33 campsites in all overlooking Lake Champlain. They also offer 12 "rustic" cabins complete with toilets, showers, a refrigerator and cooking facilities. Plymouth. 4)Caton Place Campground - Features 81 sites with views of Mt. Okemo. Among the amenities here are a pool, horseshoe pits, playground, badminton, ping-pong, foosball and more. They describe themselves as an "old-fashioned campground" and maintain quiet hours. Cavendish. 5)Country Village Campground - Country Village Campground offers 41 sites for both tents and RVs. Highlights here include a solar heated pool, playground, shuffleboard and miniature golf. Lake Dunmore is just 4 miles away for swimming, and the Otter Creek is even closer for the canoe/kayak enthusiast. 6)Crown Point Campground - A quiet family camping area situated on the bank above Stoughton Pond in Perkinsville, VT on a lovely pine plantation. Crown Point Camping has a perfect mix of sun and shade with a floor of pine needles. Recreation at the campground is: Swimming (Beach 1/2 mile), Pond Fishing, Playground, Miniature Golf, Horseshoe, Octagon Hut with fireplace, lounge with laundry, and plenty of bikes to rent. Weathersfield. 7)Getaway Mountain & Campground - Located on 59 acres, Getaway Mountain & Campground features 52 WES sites. Some of the features you'll find here include: store, rec-room, camper rentals, bonfires, pot luck suppers, Bingo, hay wagon rides, hot tub rentals and a stocked trout pond that you can feed. Weathersfield. 8)Gifford Woods State Park - There are 27 tent/trailer sites and 21 lean-to sites situated in two camping loops. Each loop has a rest room with modern plumbing and hot showers ($). Killington. 9)Half Moon State Park - With sites both on the water's edge and back in the woods, the 59 tent sites and 10 lean-to sites provide great camping opportunities in a quiet, peaceful environment. Flush toilets, hot showers ($), and a dump station are provided. Hubbardton. 10)Hideaway "Squirrel Hill" Campground - Located just 2 miles from Okemo (and all the fun that brings to the table), Hideaway "Squirrel Hill" Campground features 24 wooded sites in all (7 WES with cable, 10 water only, 7 WE). Ludlow. 11)Horseshoe Acres Campground - Horseshoe Acres Campground has 150 sites and features such items/activities as a swimming pond and inground pool, gameroom and arcade, miniature golf, shuffleboard, playground, boat and trailer rentals, horseshoes, TV hookup and much more. Andover. 12)Iroquois Land Family Campground - Located just five miles from Rutland, the Iroquois Land Family Campground features 50 sites, a swimming pool and a rec building. Clarendon. 13)Lake Bomoseen Campground - Lake Bomoseen Campground & Marine is located halfway between Middlebury and Rutland Vermont. Its 33 wooded acres offer beautiful, shaded campsites (99 in all), and spacious tent and trailer site complete with picnic tables and fireplaces. We welcome boaters who can use either of our two docks. The area's streams and lakes provide abundant fish. Castleton. 14)Lake St. Catherine State Park - The campground contains 51 tent/trailer sites and 10 lean-to sites. Grassy open areas, wooded sites and lake access make this camping area very popular. Flush toilets, hot showers ($), and a dump station are provided. Poultney. 15)Meadowbrook Farm Campground - This quiet campground offers 40 sites and a pond and trout stream for fishing, as well as hiking and close proximity to several lakes. Cavendish. 16)Pine Valley RV Resort - Offers 90 sites in all for RVs. Local attractions include Quechee Gorge and the shops, museums and restaurants in Woodstock. Hartford. 17)Quechee Gorge State Park - The park contains 47 tent/trailer sites and 7 lean-to sites which are located in the camping area. Two bathrooms with showers ($) serve the campground. Most sites are large enough to accommodate large RVs. There is a sanitary dump station, but no hookups. A large field and play area are also in the campground. Located next to Quechee Gorge is a picnic area with a pit toilet and a hiking trail along the gorge. Hartford. 18)Running Bear Camping Area - Running Bear Camping Area has a mix of shaded and open, sunny sites nestled under the shadow of Mt. Ascutney in the southern Vermont Village of Ascutney. For our guests that are looking to get back to nature, Ascutney State Park, our neighbor to the north, offers hiking on wooded trails to the summit of the mountain. Windsor. 19)Silver Lake State Park - There are 40 tent/trailer sites and 7 lean-to sites. There are two rest rooms in the camping area with running water and hot showers ($). Barnard. 20)Tree Hill Campground - Tree Farm Campground is a 40-acre pine plantation offering 118 sites. Among the plusses here: a large "safari" field, pavilion, playground, hiking and winter activities like VAST snowmobile trails, x-c skiing and a heated lodge. Springfield. 21)White River Valley Campground - The park includes over 100 sites, with fire rings and picnic tables. Some are tent sites, others offer electric, water & sewer hookups located on 21 acres of secluded woods, spacious grassy sites or on the water's edge. Stockbridge. 22)Wilgus State Park - There are 19 tent sites and 6 lean-to sites which are located along the Connecticut River bank. There is one rest room with running water and hot showers ($). There are a play area, picnic area, and 3 lean-tos in the group area. Windsor. |
