Craftsbury Outdoor Center

The Craftsbury Outdoor Center (in Craftsbury Common) offers a number of different biking opportunities. They have a rental shop and provide lessons for those just starting out. The Center sponsors a number of guided tours, including a series of Fall Foliage Cycling Tours. They also run kind of an outreach program, organizing a number of free rides throughout the state from May to October. Ski Areas & Mountain Biking

You'd be hard pressed to find a major ski area in the state that does not offer a full slate of summer activities, including mountain biking. Some of these areas include Mount Snow, Stratton Mountain, Sugarbush, Killington, Jay Peak and Bolton Valley.

Lake Champlain Bikeways

Those lucky enough to find themselves in the Lake Champlain area with a bike are in for a treat. The Lake Champlain Bikeways network is a series of bike routes that, all together, take up 1187 miles in the Lake Champlain valley. Twenty-seven loops are available with lengths between ten and forty-seven miles, or you can tackle the massive 363-mile Champlain Bikeway itself as it winds around the entire lake.
