Marlboro, Vermont
Located just off the Molly Stark Trail (Route 9) in southern Vermont, Marlboro is probably best known as the home of the small but excellent Marlboro College. The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum is also located here. In the summer, two special events are big draws: the Marlboro Music Festival, which was founded by Rudolf Serkin; and Civil War Days (July), Vermont's largest Civil War event.
Lodging:Colonel Williams Inn - The Colonel Williams Inn Main House is a fine example of a Colonial New England country home. The Inn has nine tastefully decorated rooms, four with real wood burning fireplaces.
Restaurants:Colonel Williams Inn - Dine by candlelight in the Inn's comfortable dining room. Tom and Denise delight in creating "Innovative American Cuisine".
