Manchester, Vermont

Perhaps more than any other community in Vermont, Manchester has seen a lot of changes in the past few years. It has long been, and continues to be, a popular summer retreat, featuring numerous golf courses and the nearby Dorset & Weston Playhouses. Attractions like the American Museum of Fly-Fishing and Hildene (the estate of President Lincoln's son, Robert Todd Lincoln) give visitors a lot to do in milder weather, and the Manchester Music Festival inspire the nearby Green Mountains to harmonic echoes during the months of July and August. The nearby mountains of Stratton and Bromley not only provide for summer amusements, but also feature a full slate of winter fun like skiing.

All of this has bred a strong collection of grand resorts (ex. the colonnaded Equinox Hotel), restaurants and a tremendous shopping opportunity (one would almost venture to call it a shopping Mecca).
