Lincoln, Vermont

map

Lincoln was incorporated in 1780 and named for Major General Benjamin Lincoln, who led the Massachusetts Militia at the Battle of Bennington. Quakers were the earliest settlers to the region.

Lincoln is largely located in the Green Mountain National Forest and contains the 4052-foot Mount Abraham. It used to be a large center for logging.

Lincoln Gap, at 2424 feet the highest automobile pass in the state, is located here. Check it out in the summer for an exhilarating OMG drive (it's closed in the winter).

Lodging:

The Old Hotel B and B - Rooms on the first floor include a living room, dining room, game room, sitting room, office, kitchen, public bathroom, and host’s apartment. All guests bedrooms and three bathrooms are on the second floor.
