Lemington, Vermont

Granted in 1762 to Samuel Averill and others, the name Lemington is most probably a variation of England's Leamington. Vermont's Lemington is bordered to the east by the Connecticut River.

Lemington is heavily timbered, and lumbering was always a primary industry for the area. The 3140-foot Monadnock Mountain lies in the northeast corner of the town.
