Killington, Vermont

Travelers from Woodstock to Rutland are almost certainly aware of the beauty and majesty of the Killington area: U.S. Route 4 is the only direct way to get from one place to the other, and the road climbs up the Green Mountains and amongst the seven peaks of Killington along its way. It's a breathtaking drive any time of the year.

It should come as no surprise that a great many businesses around this area are dedicated to the ski industry. Killington Resort has 95 miles of skiing and snowboarding terrain, and there are miles of VAST (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) trails in the area. Killington is also very popular in other seasons, featuring mountain biking, hiking on the Appalachian and Long Trails, and two PGA golf courses. It's close proximity to one of Vermont's largest cities, Rutland, makes this a unique vacation spot that doesn't leave one feeling that they're in the middle of nowhere.
