Jay, Vermont

map

Jay, Vermont was granted in 1792 to Thomas Chittenden and John Jay, the latter an individual who was instrumental in helping to resolve land disputes with New York that led to Vermont's eventually joining the Union.

Bordering Quebec, Canada to the north, there is little livable land in the town, most of it making up the northernmost wooded section of the Green Mountains. This includes the 3861-foot Jay Peak, as well the Jay Peak Ski Resort.

Lodging:

Jay Peak Resort Slopeside Lodging - Offering a number of condos and the Hotel Jay.
