Bridport, VermontNamed after the English Channel bordering town of Bridport, England, the Vermont version has its own water border in the form of Lake Champlain. Located just to the west of Middlebury, one of the primary features of Bridport today is a migratory viewing area that is located along the Dead Creek. Back in the day (1759), Bridport was also the location of the initial
section of the Crown Point Road, which was constructed by British troops
to connect with Fort Number 4, near Charlestown, New Hampshire.
