Alburg, Vermont

map

Granted by the Vermont legislature in 1781 to a group led by Ira Allen, the Grand Isle County town of Alburg is a shortened version of Allenburg. Alburg is the only town in Grand Isle County that is not an island in Lake Champlain.

Once a significant railroad junction, dairy farming is still big here.

Alburg is the site of the only joint-run US/Canadian customs house on the entire US/Canada border.

Unincorporated villages and settlements: Alburg Center, Alburg Springs, East Alburg, South Alburg
